Invisible hanging wires at the gym

Postby dmulligan on Sun Apr 26, 2009 6:04 am

Unfortunately I have to suggest that we stop flying at the high school gym until the wires are removed.

We've had two serious crashes caused by the practically invisible wires that are hanging from the ceiling in the gym. I am not so sure what the damage was last time but on April 25th the heli that got caught requires quite a bit of repair. Not only was it a PITA for the pilot of that helicopter he also lost all control of the heli and slammed into a wall. What if there had been another person standing there?

Yes. He was not made aware there were strings too. Seemed surprised.

I believe thats the 3rd person to make contact with them

The fishing line hanging from the ceiling is not, in any way, the clubs fault. Based on a quick look I had last night they are hanging more than just along the far wall. There were some near the net on the front side of the school. Where are the others we don't know about. It is awesome that they will be removed before our next flight night. However we should check before we start flying next week. Trust but verify. Is there an easy way to sweep the ceiling to find any that the custodian missed? I say sweep because it reminds me a little of a mine field intended for helis.
